Anubis is the jackal headed god of the underworld, preparing the deceased for the afterlife, and guiding them along the way.
One of the most famous and recognized ancient Egyptian gods is Anubis who is the god of the dead and judgment. He is the son of Osiris and Nephthys. He is known to be the original god of the dead, who guides the souls of the dead to the hall of Truth in the underworld to take part in the ritual of weighing of the heart to the feather of Ma’at in the afterlife to determine their fate.
He’s depicted as a man with the head of a jackal carrying a staff featured on temples all over Egypt.
