This beautiful green gemstone is named after Mount Vesuvius in southern Italy as it was originally found there, however it is also known as Idocrase. The stone usually comes in numerous shades of green, but often mistaken for Jade this is a birthstone for both Sagittarius and Capricorn.

Metaphysically Vesuviante is associated with dispelling negativity and promoting positive feelings and for promoting inward and outward harmony with oneself and others.
